Telstra launches satellite messaging in Australia
Australian telco Telstra has launched what it says is the first satellite to mobile text messaging service in the country, but doesn’t overhype its current capabilities. Telstra Satellite Messaging is based on SpaceX’s Starlink Direct to Cell, and will allow eligible customers to send text messages when they are outside the coverage area of its normal network.
